What do the rest of you guy's do re getting your cars serviced? My car is an A3 2004 2.0L FSI petrol, it needs an intrim service soon but not sure if I should go down a good independent (though not an Audi specialist) garage or the dealer route?
Cheers

im the same as rick, i enlist my brothers help, but these aren't difficult cars to service, other than the big jobs such as the timing belt changes.... im fairly competant and confident at servicing my own now, saves on dealer/garage costs and unless you need the resale value of a FSH, it can, IMHO, prove to be 'better' than using a garage. you know exactly what has been done, what compenants have been used, what oil/lubricants etc etc. you can also delay or bring services forward slightly for key events, such as holidays etc, with dealer servicing this can prove difficult sometimes.

i dont intend on selling my golf so im quite happy to keep it maintained to my own standards, which often prove to be tighter than a dealer anyhow.

in regards to your car, being a 3 year old, i presume dealer warranty has now expired. if this is the case , i would be tempted to just use a very good independant specialist, these often prove to have better workmanship than main dealers for many many reasons.
