Unknow part?

Well was getting the heater coil and Engine workshop message. So following advice on this forum I put it down to the switch on the brake pedal, long story short, bought this part second hand after asking for a brake pedal switch an got this.....

Since then I've fixed the switch an my dash is now nice an empty ;)
just wondering what it is? Thanks

Any ideas people.... I'm really lost as to what it is. Has 4 pins in a row at the back, not in a square like my own brake switch.
