Could someone tell me, apart from the drain holes under the battery, the pollen filter housing and the door seals, where else can water get in causing the passenger side footwell to get wet? I have removed the drain bungs and replaced the filter housing seal with silicone sealant and all door seals seem in good order and dry,I have removed the carpet on the passenger side and the water seems to be getting in behind the electical block housing all the multiplugs which is covered by the plastic trim panel.Any help on this one would be greatly appreciated.
Would I be right in assuming that if the drain holes and filter housing were the problem, then the water would get in through the ventilation ducting?
Do you have a sunroof?
Have you squeezed your drain nipples?

copied across from the "footwell" post yesterday:
Can't understand why everybody thinks you need to remove battery to clear crud. Fill the space with a little water if it isn't already so! then reach underneath approx in middle of battery. You should eventually feel a rubber gromet with twigs protruding. Shake this about a bit and it will water pressure clears rest of the crud. Keep adding water and it will freely drain
I know its poor design on vdubs part but this has worked on several cars already

The drain grommets have been removed and the water drains freely, the pollen filter has been removed and resealed yet water still gets in from somewhere!

My passat was leaking from the top corner of the windscreen pillar on the passanger side, water was then dripping down on the carpet and messing with the electrics, had the windscreen refitted and resealed properly and that sorted it out.
