I have a 96 TDi estate with 173k on the clock but now all the clocks are gone and only the warning lights work. I've dismantled it and resoldered the incoming socket to no avail. I assume that the voltage control chip has gone AWOL. Can anyone throw any light on the matter, or point me at a circuit diagram? Otherwise is anyone breaking one with this late model instrument console in it. The car is otherwise excellent and it would be a pity to scrap it just for this fault.
