hi i need to change the front pads and discs on a 2002 130bhp passat, are there any special tools required to do it myself or is it easier to give to garage to do, and if so how much approx do you think it would cost.
thanks frank

It's always easier to give it to a garage. :p
Go to / ring German Swedish and French and ask them how much for the parts, then decide if you want to pay the garage or do it yourself.
Brakes are not hard to do. ;)

Which raises an interesting point for me. With VWs love of multiple part choices for the same model car, I have a 2005/6 Highline 1.9TDi estate, how do I find out for sure what pads I have fitted . There appears to be a choice of at least two for my car....
