There's a scrunching rubber kind of noise coming from my rear suspesion when I go over a bump - any idea what the common cause might be?

Rear Bushes more than likely, not expensive to buy, but labour costs are a bitch as they take a lot of work fitting. Any local garage could do this, doesn't need to be VW specialist.

I might have a go myself as the rear isn't as scarey as the front (which probably do need new bushes as well) - I assume you can release the shocks and drop the trailing arm without too much hassle?
