A while ago I posted about a my 1.8 non-turbo ADR Engine Passat that would not start.

Having got a fault reader and replaced the coolant sensor, it will fire
but runs terrible with a misfire. Its not running right on 3 and 4, and
just started to get the milk in the oil cap.

So the head bolts are full of oil in the top and I want to make sure I get
the right tool for the job as mashing them up would be a disaster.
Can anyone tell me what tool I need to undo them? And where to get a set from?

Also, will this head gasket fit:

Thanks!

i dont know if that gasket will fit, but since its made by fai, you would probably end up doing the job twice. i will only use genuine or payen head gaskets.

Also known as an M10 RIBE, to remove a VAG 20v head you need a special long reach version.

Thanks for the info, off to the tool shop tomorrow then.

Crasher, do you know if that head gasket I mentioned above will fit?

The head gasket for an ADR engine is 058 103 383 Q and is £38.50 inc VAT from Audi and £24.73 inc VAT from GSF for an Elring (top quality) so why pay £37.03 for something inferior? fleaBay strikes again...

M10 Ribe bit does fit but it's not actually an M10. It is VW specific. (The M10 usually feels a bit loose)
