Anybody any good recommendations for a garage in Norwich / Norfolk for good workshop service?

(Ideally one that can take things apart and put them back together in the right order!).

Have had more than my fair share of bad experiences around here. (No real experience of the local dealership and not wishing to imply anything negative)

I recently had my car serviced and had some diagnostics carried out at Yelverton garage. Their work seems to be of a very high standard and the guys down there really seem to know what they are talking about. I used to go to Robinsons but they dont seem to know what they are doing . Hope this helps.

I second this! They even don't mind working on my heavily modded MK4 2.0 8v.:D

I have used Ian Gardiner in Yaxham and he has done two cam belt changes on my Golf TDi and Seat 1.4 at very reasonable prices. He bothered to ask if I wanted the water pump chaged at the same time and having experienced a failure on a Renault that cost me a further 650 notes I was pleaed to have the two belts, rollers tensioners and pump done for £350 and the car was as ever returned on time and without other problems.

Thanks Ian!!

The Seat cost me only £127!!

Hi Guys, bought my car from Robinsons VW Lowestoft, they were trying, told me that they and VW wouldn't retrofit Cruise Control - I have since booked my car into Robinsons VW Norwich to have it fitted....
VW Norwich seem good so far.
I had the Cambelt and longlife service on the Audi done here - http://www.autotechcarservice.co.uk/index.php/en/ - was a good price in my opinion and just on the outer ring road of Norwich, they used all genuine parts too.
That being said, i used a local mechanic to my home town (Yarmouth) for everything else on my other cars who is top notch and great prices - For All Your Mot's And Repairs, Brakes, Batteries, car Servicing, Cam Belts, Clutches Plus Much More in Great Yarmouth (http://www.lsmotorrepairsyarmouth.co.uk/)

I use Concorde Auto Center for small bits (MOT @ £10 if using app & Balancing £15) but not sure i'd trust them on big jobs.

NEVER EVER USE KWIK FIT DEREHAM ROAD FOR ANYTHING - on my old car i had done the suspension on it including new shocks, springs and new anti-roll bar links, and they failed it on the anti-roll bar links, when i jacked it up they'd clearly broken it off with a bar as they'd dented my brand new suspension too... failed my mot and tried to charge me £65 to replace a £6 part... needless to say i did it myself and then never used them again.

Interesting. I had something similar with a previous car. The Mercedes-Benz dealing in Ipswich insisted it was not possible to retrofit cruise control to my A180. I did some digging on-line and found an independent specialised who was able and willing to do the work. He explained what was involved - removing the steering wheel, fitting the extra control, refitting the steering wheel, then using the MB diagnostic system to tell the EMU that it now had cruise control then finally updating a master list for the car back at the factory. They were polite and efficient and when finished you would never have know it wasn't there from new. Needless to say that has lead me to value an independent specialist.
