Hi guys, i have just changed the oil in my 1997 tdi 110 with 5w 40 fully synthetic diesel oil but i am now worried that this might be to thin can anyone advise on this, what grade do you use?

In my MY 1999 A4 110 i used 5w 40 and did 30K with no issues....It would of carried on but the peugot that hit it out pay to that!!!

Check the oil is also got a VW505 number on the back that the important bit ;)

PS My A4 had 165K on it before the bump ;)

5w-40 is not too thin, it will be fine.

What brand etc was it?

Halfords own brand.
