Hi, I have a '99 1.9 TDi SE with a four speed auto box. When the gears change from first to second I hear a slight squeal. If I put my foot down on the accelerater the noise is more pronounced and if I'm very gentle there is almost no noise.
Any ideas please?

Hi there.
How many miles on the car?
When was the Auto transmission Fluid level last checked?
When was the Auto transmission Fluid level last changed?

130k on the clock
60k Last Checked
I don't know if the oil has ever been changed.
This sounds serious!!

That is really useful and has boosted my confidence in checking or changing the ATF.
I will check out the necessary bits and get on with it.
Thanks again. I will post results.
