Front Passenger CV axel fell out!!

Hi Guys,

A quick query - i had my clutch done last week, and yesterday the front passenger cv axel fell out of the diff/tran while driving along garage said they didn't touch it when they replaced clutch - they only needed to do front drivers side - is this possible or just garage BS?.

Both drive shafts must be removed from the gearbox,when removing the box

thats what i thought - i'm gonna ring vw tommorow to make sure though - thanks for your response
