which side is it located in the engine bay?

car's an 05 1.9 TDi

got a squeak and I'm losing coolant

is it a DIY job?

if not a DIY job how much could I expect to pay in a non main dealer garage?

Water pump is driven by the timing belt, if it is the pump that is at fault then you may as well have a new timing kit fitted! about £250 to £300!

P.S one other thing if it is the pump making that noise DONT RUN THE ENGINE OR DRIVE THE CAR ANYMORE!

turns out it's the radiator that's split on the left hand side not the pump failing

changing the cambelt, pump and rad whilst the fronts off
