Jetta cutting out and not starting

I have a 55 plate jettta 1.9 TDI currently having problems with the car it will start after being stood over night but only runs for about 5 miles then cuts out and will not restart. Had the car in at the local non vw garage and they can not fine the problem has anybody else had anything like this? Any Idea :confused:

Could be a blocked fuel filter, have you had the car scanned for fault codes ?

The garage that had a look at it changed the fuel filter. Once the filter has changed it ran for around 5 miles and did the same again cut out and refused to restart. The garage mentioned that they had plugged in but no codes but also mentioned about taking the car to a vw garage as they have different test equipment.:confused:
