1994 1.9TD power steering leak

hi guys, due to moving home i hav'nt had a chance to look at my passat's power steering problem, it has a leak, and it's due for an MOT on Monday the 12th, so can anyone tell me of any obvious problems with this cars PS system and where the leak is likely to be coming from,

If its a visible leak you should be able to see where it is coming from? If it is being lost it may be in the steering rack bellows or you may have a leaking pressure pipe.

check the o ring on the 18mm fitting on the rack
