Does any one know if it is possible to change the rear number plate lights for LED ones? I did the mod on my golf without problems but when i did it on the passat the bulb warning light came on??

Its a really simple mod which I think looks great i was just concerned about the warning light coming on.

The warning light will only come on if you get the resistance wrong. The can-bus system likes to "see" the correct resistance due to the bulbs. That's how it decides a bulb has blown.

Will these fit the B6 due to the writeup being for the CC

I will have to find out the correct resistance then re install them.

I've not seen any UK passats with the rear LED's yet.

I've done quite abit of research into this and I'm not paying $50-60 for them.

It is possiable to buy the LED bulbs and fir the resistors yourself if youre ok with a solidering iron. You can get everything you need from Maplins.

Hav'nt got round to fitting mine yet but will do shortly.

Hi you dont need to solder wires i just crimped wires onto existing wires an easy job worth doing.

You could try 5mm super bright LEDs. Solder a 470 ohm (1/4 Watt or 1/2 Watt) resistor to one leg of the LED. Wire them up in parallel. (as many as you like) Remember they only work one way round. Avoid linking 3 or 4 LEDs together in series. Cheap torches often do this. If one fails they all fail. Have fun. You can buy LEDs complete with resistors for 12v on ebay. They cost very little.

How did/will you put the resistors in?
