Bora instrument problem

I've got a 2000 Bora with a dodgy instrument cluster. The odometer doesn't clock the miles as I drive, but when the engine is turned off, the miles jump back on so that it reads the true milage!
Also the multifunction computer seems to have packed in.
Anybody got any throughts on this?

try disconneting the battery for 5 minutes and reconnecting....iv found when a problem with dash panels can be resolved by this. however, be aware you can loose ur radio code and electric window settings. which you have to do basic setting and recode...simple to do tho. if not check to see if any faults with speed sensor causing problems with mileage. otherwise an expensive dash is the only and last option.
