Bora Boot Broke

Yesterday I was cleaning the ugly foam strip behind the number plate (my number plate is small). I locked the car, as usual, went inside, came back out, opened the boot to return the screwdriver to the set. Closed it and found that it does not clip in, it just remains free (as if trying to close a door with the handle pulled out). To lock it i have to lock it by remote then press the boot down so it actually locks and the alarm activates. (Hoping that it doesn't go off during the night). I can't understand what has happened. It is just so random and unexpected!


ps Why is it that VW didn't wire the alarm to the main horn, instead of some drony little beeping sound?

Does anyone know of this problem, where i could get it fixed and what could have caused this.

I have found exactly the same fault on my Bora,it is annoying as hell!! I think it needs a new clip on the inside. When you look at it,is it loose and not springloaded? I dont have thepart number of it though
