I have a A4 tdi 130 quattro avant that had cruise control factory fitted, it is not working and i have done a full scan with VCDS no faults showing. Is there a way to check the cruise control switch in VCDS? I have tried engine login code 11463 to activate cruise in the engine ecu but this made no difference.

check the clutch switch operation as this will cancel the cruise if its inop as will brake light switch. The clutch switch failure is very common and no fault code is stored so check mvb 6 or 5 for switch status on/off
Use the advanced measured value block function on vcds if unsure which switch you are checking

Yes, most likely the clutch switch. Try disconnecting it and bridging the terminals on the plug to rule it out.

Thanks for the replies:beerchug: Checked cruise switch and it is fine. Couldn't find a measuring block for the clutch switch so ordered one as it's only a tenner.

Diagnostic equipment does show it up, in the measuring blocks.
