Creaky left turn only, B4 TDI

My 1996 Passat TDI makes a creaking noise that comes from around the driver's side front wheel when turning the wheel left, not right. Any suggestions as to what this problem might be? Costmos

Hi, I have a 2003 passat estate,70k miles .
Last service I was informed the offside CV drive boot had split, I decided to wait before I had this repaired...big mistake. I drove for about 4k miles (2 Months ) before I had it changed, only to find a couple of weeks later the car made creaky/clicking noises from the front offside but only when turning right and pulling away.Return trip to the garage confirmed dirt/grit had got into the CV joint and started to wear it .... New CV joint later..problem solved.
Could be similar ?
