what oil??!!

what oil should i be using...

2001 1.8T passat 85k on the clock.
Want to give it an oil and filter change this weekend.

Hi,as long as it is fully synthetic and carries the vw 502.0 and 505.0 recommendations it will be fine.I recommend changing every 5000 miles to keep your turbo in good health.You can get a fully synthetic from any motor factors for around £15 for 5 litres and only use the genuine filter(dealer only)around £5-£6 and a new sump plug at less than a pound!I use Comma 5w 40 which carries both recommendations ,cheers Calum.

No problem NIgolf ,the one I use is called Comma Syner-G 5w40 and carries both vw 502.0 and 505.0 recommendations,here is a link :
