I bought a serial lead form ebay - £15. That will let you use the shareware version of vag-com 409. If you want to upgrade to the licenced version, it will be $99. Have a look in the vag-com section for more info about vag-com, which is a really useful tool.

Beware late 97's and 98 audi's had a can-bus interface and not an ODB and the adaptor costs £260. You will have to ask Audi against your Vin Number. Regards Peter
