I own a 1998 golf estate with 1.9 SDi engine. While trying to routinely change the glow/heater plug on number 1 today i managed to overtighten the plug and crack the mount for it. This is a small cylindrical shape which juts out of the head about1/2". When the car was started, a little blowout was observed coming from the crack and the engine noise was slightly louder. Obviously this is now likely to be a head off job
Has anyone ever had similar bother (ie. been so stupid) before and is there anyway the head can be fixed/welded. any help would be appreciated and i will post a picture later.
