Hi All...

I had to top up the oil in my car yesterday. The first time I've ever had to do it.
The Golf GTI never had to be topped up in four years.
So... 1400 miles
The reading was 1/4 and I put in 1/2Ltr, the reading is now about 1/8 off the top.
I would say 3/4Ltr would fill it from low to full. But this is just on the 2.0TFSI engine.
I haven't looked in the manual to see if there is guide to topping up the oil.

your engine is new, so a new engine demands a lot more oil for the first few miles. Thats why audi give you a bottle of oil. As you maybe aware, your best of reading the manual because if you put too much oil in the engine you may bugger it up! Half is sufficient and is prob the best as its safer, then filling all the way. I've only topped oil up on the A5, so not too sure on the a4. Just given you a quick answer :)
