I am just about to take delivery of my first Audi 4.2 Quattro diesel. Can anyone recommend a detatchable towbar which is completely hidden when not in use and doesn't require the cutting of the bumper when installed.

as far as im aware you have to cut the bumper to get a towbar but if its a proper quality towbar you should be able to get a lower bumper trim for the towbar which as a cut out and a plate to fit in it

Audi themselves fit Westfalia towbars. It does need you to cut a hole in the rear bumper cover, but the hole is on the bottom, so its completely invisible when you take off the towbar and swing up the electrical socket.

I just fitted one, with a genuine Audi electrical kit, and am very impressed with everything about it, it all just fits and works, when you go into reverse with something attached to the towbar, it shows a trailer on the MMI screen and switches off the rear sensors so that it doesn't beep at you
