Hi all,

Recently changed the rear pads and renewed the brake/clutch fluid, brakes work fine but I can't help thinking if I used the correct method or not.

When changing the rear pads I drove back the pistons and let the fluid rise in the resevoir, is this an acceptable method or can other issues be incurred? According to Haynes manual the pipe should be clamped and the bleed screw opened when driving back the pistons.

Concerned mainly with master cylinder and ABS problems being incurred.

I bled each caliper and clutch circuit thoroughly afterwards until the new fluid appeared so there shouldn't be any air in the system, just checking to be sure.

Any comments would be much appreciated

Cheers

if you force the pistons back you are forcing fluid back into the master cylinder-if its borderline you may damage seals also by clamping you have to replace fluid as you lose some out of the bleed nipples.
