Wondering if any one can help. I have a 1999 1.4 polo, the tick-over on it is quite low, and therefore the biting point is a bit funny and my missus is having a bit trouble driving it. I believe the tick-over is controlled directly from the ecu so there is no adjustment on it. I was gonna replace the ecu as i can pick one up on ebay for about 25quid. However, i've never done this before and was wondering if these things are just "plug and play" or do they have to have some specialist programming to suit the car. I'd be grateful of any help, or even if some one has had this problem before and done something different to fix it.
Thanks

I've just done a reply on this in this thread....

Although yours is a 1.4 and that is a 1.8, the same applies.

Good luck.

Due to my limited knowledge on cars i think i'll look for someone who knows what they on about to do this, how much do you reckon a garage would charge if i asked them to do this?
