Remote Key Fob Problems

The remote central locking key has stopped working on the other halfs Fabia :( She replaced the battery and now it doesn't work. Works fine openeing with the key but not remotely. I've tried the method as described in the hand book, press open button within 30 secs of opening the door with the key, and the way some of the Audi guy's have done it, but neither of them have worked :( Is there any way to get it to work again?

has the battery been put in correctly?
just changing battery should not of caused failure so check the internal connections to be sure

The battery has been put in correctly, the LED flashes when the buttons are pressed but nothing happens :(

I am having a key for my A4 cut and cloned tomorrow so I will see if the guy doing that can help.
