hi everyone... my names Jade i own a 1999, golf 1.4...... i have always loved golfs and i was told they are a great car, and hold their value well, but thing is i have been having nothing but trouble with it, :mad:
major problem at the moment is it keeps cutting out on me when im coming to a stop, i took it to a mechanic and he told me it was the lambda sensor, so we changed that, didnt work, then my bf thought it was cause it was holding the revs so he tried fixing them, it was a little better but now my car sounds like im over-revving,
then we changed the throttle body which again helped a little but it was still cutting out,
i even took it to a proper garage to put on the computer but nothing came up.... another mechanic i know said he thinks its the Air Flow meter... i dont want to spend anymore money on parts unless i know that this will fix it once and for all...
Does anyone know what could be wrong?
