I have seen on the Internet the following answer to a question about Lighting Boards connectors:
"The pre made sockets are not available on all cars (but should be on all cars after 2000) the location of this socket varies on all cars, as does the accessability of the socket."
Halfords do a Cycle Carrier Lighting Board Wiring Kit: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_25 2433_langId_-1_categoryId_202503 which adds a caravan style connector which goes in your boot.
The million dollor question is, is the above statement true? If it is true, where would I locate the socket on a Audi A4 cabriolet 2004 plate and can I get the other half of the this "socket" and a wiring diagram to match the pins to the correct bulb functions?
