bought an 3.0 tdi s line 6 weeks ago and so far its been the most unreliable car i have ever owned , its covered 70k and is on a 2005 plate. here is a list of problems so far .

climate control pump packed up
new c links on suspension
new fuel pump in tank
new high pressure diesal pump
new front pads and discs
new cam chain tensioner
also the chrome on widows very cloudy

bought car from a main dealer so work all covered by warrenty but has really dented my faith in what i considered to be a very reliable brand .
we also own a audi TT that has also been a bit unreliable .

maf sensor
clutch pedal snapped bad design
all coils replaced
dash pod failure
petrol leak
hazard warning relay (indicators)
corrosion on roof rails

Is this just bad luck or are these faults all common on these cars . after years of lexus i am starting to regrett going back to audi . mind you was surprised to see the maf sensor on the a6 has made in japan printed on it :(

may I ask you what the symptoms were to have the cambelt tensioner replaced. I have a 2.7 v6 which is beginning to make some rattly noise on start up which definately isnt hyraulic tappets? Thanks, Graham
