Can anybody help me??
I have just bought a 2004 Beetle cabriolet and when i lower the hood it doesn't engage fully back, so the light by the rear view mirror stays on.

It seem that the switch cuts out and will not put the hood fully back or close it at all. If I leave it for about half an hour it will work, I know the switch has a cut out on it. Has anyone else had this problem or any suggestions>:o:o

for poor closure and tightness VW told the dealer network to close roof and put in a low bake oven at a certain temp which used to reset the tension of the roof

thanks for your reply. what temp does it suggest as my friend has an oven. my roof goes down 3/4 then stops. if we then press down on the roof then press the button again it goes all the way down. before we brought it one of the side panels was replaced not sure if this is any thing to do with it. thanks

Hi - No, not as yet. Somebody suggested that it may be the electric hood module and that it needs to go to a VW dealer. I have enquired about this and it is about £77.00 to diagnose it.

cant remember the temp but if you phone VW customer services they should be able to find details
