Hello All
My 92 Audi 80's fog light has started to stay on (whilst head/rear lights are on) wether the switch is in or out. The switch 'on' light stays illuminated when the switch is in both positions.

Does anybody have any suggestions please?

Suggestions:
Faulty switch staying 'on' in both switch positions or a sticking relay ? - if you disconnect the switch from the wiring, what happens ?

If the foglights go out, the switch is likely to be the issue.
If the foglights stay on, maybe the relay is sticking on ?

Just some thoughts, hope they help.

Regards,
Bob

Thanks for your suggestions Bob
I'll give them a go. I've took the bulb out of the cluster for the interim...

Hi
I had the same problem on my 80 estate and it was the earth on the cable that is routed through the left hand side of the tailgate. Fitted an in-line splice and it cured the fog light problem.Hope this is of some help.

Apologies for not replying sooner...

It's not a faulty relay.

I've definately got the problem narrowed down to the wiring on the left side of the boot because when i wobble the cable there the foglight flickers. So I will have to look at this area with fitting an in-line splice in mind. I still need to locate the fault specific though.

Will keep you posted.
