Hi Tim

You need to do it with diagnostic software or a handheld code reader. Best to find a local VAG specialist if you're in a hurry.

Is it the in-hose sensor "Water temp" that you replaced? I have replaced this sensor three times and my mass airflow sensor (to be sure) and the management light still reports it as a fault!

Really winds me up but apart from atrocious fuel consumption (20 mile journey, driving like a granny, 25mpg!) I don't see any problems at all?

What year and engine code is your car?

I dont know about the engine code but the reg is y641 xxx etc, so a 01 plate really.
