80 tdi wont rev

hi all

my wifes 80tdi, starts fine, runs great on tick over, revs ok on tick over
try to drive it and there is no power.
took it out today to see could only get 60mph out of here,
then the glow plug light started to flash,
slowed down for a turn off, light goes out, drive again light comes on !
got home revs ok tick over and light started to flash.
also last week she said the indicators heater wipers lights wouldnt work?

any ideas cheers paul

I am no expert, but try to check the electrical "connection" wire that comes out of the 3rd injector. There´s a plug there , brown coloured i think.
Either it is disconnected or damaged inside the injector? I am not sure.

try check the wire condition and the brown plug.

OK ive changed the maf senson checked the injector wire,
drove ok for about 30yards then went back to not reving over 3000.
any ideas?

hi mate, just a few things you could try, first been is the air filter ok simple i know but hey, then theres the n75 valve and vaccume hoses i changed all mine and its made a difrence they looked fine but where rotten, then theres the egr is it working ok simple to take off n clean out, also is the wastgate working ok u can ger sone grips on the actuator and see if it moves freely if its solid then u need remove turbo n clean out the vnt vains ect but u can free it if its just a little sticky, iv also removed n cleand the inlet manifold as it was craped up to use a better word made a big difrence mine had done 125 k never been touched, well just a few things to keep u busy at the weekend good luck n let us know if u sort it plsssss

been playing around tonight,
aiR filter ok vac pipes look ok(CHANGED)
the main power loss is in 4th and 5th gear(limp home poss 60mph)
any more ideas?
will clean the manifold at the weekend,
cleaned the egr valve
air filter ok,fuel filter changed,
getting codes

right replaced the maf,
now it say maf fault open or earthed.
even after clearing codes.just comes straight back !

any ideas,
it could be a faulty maf
