Search reveals several gauge/cluster issues, but I haven't found one that replicates mine.
2005 A6 1.9 Tdi Avant Sport manual 6-speed....
Fuel gauge is consistently registering 1/4 of a tank more than it actually holds, but the warning light/buzzer works correctly.<- So I'm assuming it isn't sender unit related.
It's wedged right up when genuinely full and the light comes on when registering/displaying 1/4-1/2 a tank. It's been like this for 12 months/25K miles.
The volt gauge recently started wedging itself at the top of the display too, while running. It drops down to approx 1/4 when switched off, but takes a few seconds before dropping to the bottom and any electrical use sends it back up to approx 1/4.
It's as if both gauges are displaying approx 25% 'more' than they should....
I'm guessing at a cluster fault?
VCDS here tomorrow to tackle my A4 cruise activation problem (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=76108). Any point in checking the A6 with VCDS???
TIA.:beerchug:
