On my A4 2.4 Avant TDI Quattro (2002),
when the fuel filler flap is open I do not see any indication of a securing plunger (albeit retracted) that I would have imagined should be there as the hole is there for it, and it does not lock when the car is 'locked'.
Can any Avant owner confirm that there should be a flap securing plunger fitted.
I have had this facility on previous Audi's and in the light of a spate of fuel siphoning theft incidents recently, I must investigate / rectify this situation right now as I recently noticed diesel residues running down the bodywork and suspect somebody may have 'tapped' my tank!
