Hi
There is a small solenoid in the fuel flap that pops out when the car is locked these fail regularly. I've had 2 on my B6 A4 and a mate has had one on his B6 A4 a common problem it seems.

I think my lock has stopped working.

On the avant model have you got to remove the sub to get to it? As i cant see anyother way?

Thanks

Just noticed the flap is not locking on my A4 Avant, with the rising cost of fuel and potential fuel strike ahead the need to fix it becomes a little more urgent with a tank full of diesel now well over a £100!

The Haynes manual suggests removal of all the internal side trim (which is a nightmare), but have noticed from the B8 forums that the solenoid can be replaced from the outside, does the same apply to the the B6/7?

Any help appreciated.
