Hello,

My A6 1997 stereo is pants to cut a long story short, it has the standard Audi Delta system or something.

Has anyone upgraded any of this, I would like to do something that replaces the standard gear without adding anything that is going to get in the way.

Is it worth starting with speakers, or should I do the whole lot.

Anyone done anything to an A6 of this age that would fit in the standard spaces, maybe adding an amp somewhere.

I think the car has eight speakers, 2 in each door, but I am seriously considering taking my ipod out with me at the mo!

If you swap out your DeltaCC, you will also have to change the cd changer and lead, as the changer will not work with any other headunit.

Also, if you have a BOSE system, you will absolutely have to change the speakers, because of the strange equalisation they have on them.

Upgrade to any of the single DIN later OEM units, or fit an aftermarket headunit with adapter side trim jobbies.

There are many threads on the correct speaker sizes.

Saw some second hand audi concert radios on ebay, will they be the same size do you know?

And can I just swap em and then replace the 4" speakers with some others?
