Door Light Rear not working

Rear Driver side door light isnt coming on when the door is open furthermore the actual console that shows what door is open doesnt seem 2 show the door open even if its open... What mite be problem?? Im thinking Sensors come loose....

Did you ever solve this one? Just got Audi A4 and have exact same problem.
Before I start taking of the panels thought you maybe able to help.

at a guess and possibly the simplest solution, would be to check the black 'nipple' on the inside of the door, which 'pings' out when the door is opened, much like a fridge light works.

if not this, there is a possibility it could be faulty wiring, water ingress and constant movement can cause breaks in the wires.

although i'd hazard a guess at either a sticky nipple or a blown bulb/fuse primarily.

Cheers for the early reply, most appreciated. I thought it might be THE NIPPLE thingy but doesnt appear to have one. have read further and looks like it might be a contact within the lock mech. Can fix that, just reluctant taking all the door trim off and then never being able to get it seated nicely back in place. Already checked the bulb and thats fine.
