Interior and eterior temperature displays

My 97 (C4) A6 Avant originated from the USA consequently both the climate and exterior temperatures are displayed in deg F. Is it possible to change these to deg C? I don't have any electronic gizmos so I guess it would have to be by pressing combinations of buttons? Thanks, Andy

On my 2003 Passat you press the ECON and AUTO buttons at the same time.

Unfortunately mine doesn't have an ECON button but I have tried various other combinations without success. Anyone have other ideas?

You need to access the ECU and alter the country codes.

This can be done by a dealership but you'll pay, so see if you can find anyone local with VAG-COM to sort this for you.

On mine, you hold down the upper recirc button, (The top button of the three) a swooping arrow, and then press the + button on the nearside temperature adjust.

This worked on my 98 A4, 99 A6 and my current 2001 A6.
