my 2006 A6 has rain sensing wipers which were operating erratically. would run at apparently random speeds on intermittent setting, and when stopped in traffic would switch to high speed rather than stepping down a notch.
dealer could not diagnose the problem, but found "TPIS 2011793/4" related bulletin from audi hq - requires "new optimised ;) rain/light sensor". booked in next week to fix under warranty :)
just thought i'd post in case anyone else had the same problem.
