I own a 3.2FSI 4 motion Passat estate with DSG gearbox.
It was delivered in January 2007 and so far I had no problems with it and I really like its operation.
I heard that a lot of people with Passats and Golfs had some problems with it, malfunctions and break downs that forced them to leave the car in the service for a lot of time and I am a bit worried since I only have it for 7.000km(5.000 miles) so far.
I would appreciate any info from forum members on the subject.:1zhelp:

Hi MikeXR, and welcome to the forum. I've got a 140 Touran with the DSG, 17000 mls. on the clock, tow a caravan with it, & I've not had any problems with it so far, (touch wood). I've been watching the Touran forum for quite some time, and there doesn't seem to be too many problems with it on there either.

Hi Mutley, Thanks for the reply.
I had a touran TSI for 2 months as a loaner from Hertz while I was waiting for my Passat to arive and I thought it was a realy great car. It had 5.000 miles on it and I had absolutely no problems ...

seen a few problems with it but the price you pay for having advanced technology. intially when introducing new technology there is always teething problems...but its a good design...amazingly how it has solenoids n electrical wiring with a control unit actually inside the gearbox submersed with oil.
