BORA wheel upgrade

Hi,
I have finally got the wheels I wanted for my BORA, they are 17" as apposed to the standard 16" I know that everyone recommends putting 225/45/17 on but would I encounter any problems id I put 225/50/17 on as I don't like the really low profile of the 225/45/17.

I know putting on 225/50/17 will change the gearing and put the speedo out by 4% what my concern is will the 225/50/17 cause and rubbing or fouling anywhere or would putting spacers on help?

Hi,

You really need to contact your insurance company if you fit different (non-approved) size tyres to your car, as the insurer may refuse to pay in the event of an accident if you have not declared your "modification" to them. You may find it increases your premium too.
