Is this normal ?

Hi all my first post so be gentle,

Ordered my 2.0L TDI GT on June 10th and have become weirdly obsessed with everything about the car ever since as I endure my 12 week wait.

Is it normal to read every post on every forum, search the net for images and reviews, gaze longingly at the brochure every day ??????

If not then what did you all do to make the wait more bearable? The weeks are going so slowly.

The last time I waited 12 weeks for anything was a vasectomy and believe me those weeks flew by which wasn't what I wanted them to do ;)

I've been doing exactly the same since my order at the end of June... Makes it harder that the engine I'm getting, the 1.6TDI 105PS isn't out anywhere yet so I can't even read a review on the engine!!!

Its very normal, i did the exact same waiting for mine, and i still do now i have it ;)

I even took the brochure to work and asked everyone there if they wanted to have a look, too :approve:

They got bored with that quite quickly, but I only became aware they were when I found broken glass in my sarnies and shrunken heads on my desk

I think they were just jealous :beerchug:

I will keep the brochure (and price list!) while I've got the car, though!

Thought you might like an opinion from a professional.
I'm a clinical psychologist specialising in obsessive behaviours, behaviour modification and cognitive behavioural therapy.
I'm pleased to confirm that it's absolutely normal to take your brochure to bed.
I do it every night so it must be!
3 weeks to go - considering medication to get me through the wait.

Like you psmith98752 I have ordered a Tdi 1.6 105PS at end of June and have found no tests for this engine, hope it is a good one. Told when ordered delivery would be mid September, but that could just be salesman talk. When are you expecting yours?

I was almost going for Passion Red, always wanted a Golf GTI, insurance is just far too much for me, ended up with Reflex Silver which is what my current Polo is. I never thought about it like that however it is true, it never looks dirty.

Me too!!!! My wait was worse because mine is a company car and every delivery date came and went! When I finally got it, I went on holiday for 2 weeks!! So had to wait longer. It was awful being on holiday knowing my Golf was on my drive!!
