Hello. Newbie poster here with a question I hope you might be able to help with. In June 2005 I bought a new Passat B5 Trendline 130 Saloon. About th esame time my mate bought a Highline. On his Highline th ecentral locking activates automatically after about 20MPH or so, he is also able to remotely close any windows that have been left open.

I suspect that there is an electrical off/on enabler for these features and that it should be possible to turn them on in my Trendline. Can anybody advise ?

Can it be done ? Can I do it, does it need a dealer or will a VAG specialist independant do it.

Many thanks in advance.

Lev.

Yes.

Anyone with a registered copy of VAGCOM can do it too.

Thank you Lex. I will try and find someone in my area who can do it. I suppose the main dealer at th enext service would prove expensive.

Can anyone recommend anyone in the North and East Manchester area ?

VAG-com doesnt have to be registered to access the central locking/convenience module.

True, but the Save function is blocked so you cannot change anything.

Andy,

You need software called VDS Pro or VAG Diagnostics (same thing) and a OBD cable that works with VDS, the opto-isolated cheap ebay jobbies dont always work.

You then change some values in the CCM to enable the auto close, do a search here and also on passatworld and TDiClub, theres loads of info.

I have VDS Pro, but my OBD cable don work with it!!!
