Hi Martin

Your car looks great and I can not wait until my Ibis White A4 Avant - 2.0 TFSI Quattro arrives in September.

You obviously take care of your cars. Just wondering whether you protected/detailed your paintwork following delivery. If so what products did you use on the Ibis White or could recommend? Any thoughts as to future car care products which you may use on the Ibis White to keep it glimmering?

Cheers

Thanks...
As for prep, just the dealer prep which i must say was very good.
I have had a quote from a detailer in the lincolnshire area for a winter prep. £80 which seem fair for 4 hours work plus travel.
As for future products to be used, I'll be sticking with the Meg's range of stuff for now.

Due to childrens inflatable toys, play houses, sand pits, 2000 plastic balls, three swimming pools, beer fridge and beer making kit mine sleeps on the drive. Although due to cats and a security light she doesnt get much sleep with the light going on and off all night

Do you put it through automatic car washes as well?

Putting your car in a garage helps keep it in good condition e.g. reduces the amount of bird crap, dust. etc. Additionally the extra couple of degrees increase in temp help on cold morning starts and hence fuel economy......none of which your insurance will cover ;)

agreed,
a garage that you can get your car into is a great assett.
i have had many garages over the years and only once managed to get a mk2 escort into it, although it was so small the doors took a hammering
when getting in and out.
don't have a garage now, and yes, bird crap is all over the car, turning to purple when they start eating the berries up the side of the drive.
a little word of warning though to those who don't have brick/concrete/or asbestos garages.
my mate ran a pub,he ran it very well and he and his wife were always winning hollidays etc from the brewery, all very well deserved.
his car was "keyed" one night whilst in the car park, so he cleared the wooden garage out and stuck it in there "safe and sound".
not so.
jealous bast---s set fire to the garage and he lost his 4x4.
the same happens when you have them on drives with visible anti-theft
devices fitted.
if they can't have it they will wreck it, burn it, paint stripper, anything
love your car by the way,
it looks the business
regards,
stewy.

I like the fact it's under cover and behind closed doors. Before I built the car port and put doors on my other car use to get dirty just sitting there. I can now get it out after been washed days later and it will be clean. Unlike my wife's car that sits on the main road all night long. We have big trees that line our road and I'm sure we have horse sized birds that nest in the trees, cos the size and amount of the ***** that falls on to my wife's car is unbelievable....

As for been insured, Yes mine is fully insured but I still wouldn't want someone taking it or damaging it...

And, recently i have used the odd autocarwash. Its replacement arrives soon :) so it makes no difference to me

Normally I'd shout "Stone him, stone him" but I know totally how you feel. I haven't washed my "loaner" for ages and the wheels are very dirty. Maybe I'll pay the Tesco guy to do it next time I'm there :biglaugh:
