Auto gearbox which is which

Im pretty sure there was a post started by somebody somewhere on this forum showing you how to identify which auto box is which just from looking at the pictures alone.This is really useful if like me you are looking for a replacement car and quickly scanning the AT ads.

Am I going mad, if it exists can you give me the link please.

I started a brief thread some time ago myself and although I got some responses I felt it was inconclusive.

Most queries can be worked out by using the 2WD auto = Multitronic and 4WD auto = Tiptronic rule (on Audis anyway). ;)
