1993 passat - flat battery

I love my Passat - we have been through a lot together !
I have a problem with the battery going flat
Have isolated it to the fuse which governs central locking/int.lights and clock.
Without the fuse, I have no probs (apart from only being able to open the front passenger door with the key!)
Once the fuse is back in however, I experience problems with a flat battery.
There are no interior lights staying on so I can only assume its something to do with central locking
Does anyone have any ideas/help please?

probably one of the actuators in the door
try isolating individually by disconnecting in the door shuts

Could it be the lamp in the boot staying on due to displaced switch?

Get partner to climb in while you slam it shut... or maybe you can fold down one of the rear seats and do it yourself.

Had same problem with gf's old BMW325.
