dimm xenon h/light s3

hi, very new to this so pleasr bear with me. right can anyone help, i own a s3 on a 99 plate, fantastic car but havin a few problems start to arise. first of all, my n/s head light does not come on all the time, if i turn the lights on and off a few times it comes on, but not as bright as the other and it has a slight orange tint to it, can anyone help as ive been told xenon headlights are £400 plus

Probably the bulb.

I never had mine changed in my S3 but a friend had on his Vectra with xenon's. I think the bulb was about £70 quid. £400 sound's way off the mark.

If it's the drive electronics that could be a different matter, but the fact that it's intermittent and going a strange colour suggest the bulb.
