hi,
had my a4 130 tdi remapped about 6 months ago and makes big difference and clutch has been fine so far. i,m around the 165bhp figure. had a mk4 gold 130 tdi before and also had that remapped by the same guy and had to replace clutch soon after BUT however clutch was on last legs before the remap. i wouldn,t hesitate to do it again on future cars. hope this helps.

you don't need to PM the details... if you've used someone who looked after you, feel free to recommend them, we don't discourage member recommendations.

How many miles has the car done ? The PD130s are awsome tom tune and go very well after.. Just watch the clutch on high mile cars...

I had mine done a week ago!! I was the same, even tho it went well I found my self wanting more and a little frustrated, now it goes as it should!!

Although since the remap it does seem to have settled a bit and doesn't feel quite as fast. But its also been warm and humid which isn't good for power!! :D

I did do 140mph tho, whereas before it would struggle to 120mph! ;)

Have a look at my experience on the remap http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=72814

PS the price is £195!! :D

I bought a A4 1.8T about 2 months ago now. It is a Quattro Sport and seems to be a lot faster than I thought it would be so I am wondering if it has been chipped. Is there any way to check this without getting it on a rolling road?

The Quattros are usually tuned for slightly more torque, just so the 4wd system doesn't make it slower than the FWDs, or thats what I understand from the diesels. But its only a bit not that you would think this is faster!

The only way to tell is by either getting another similar model and test driving it. :D Or get a remapper to have a look at the software, or as you say rolling road it. VAGcom should tell you too by the boost pressure as you drive, if you know what the std boost pressure is.

Do you know where I can get VAGcom from and how much I can expect to pay for it?

Just for the sake of a little balance, I thought you might like to hear my experience of having my 130pd remapped earlier this year. Long story short: it went like stink but too much low down torque set off nasty flywheel judders at 2000rpm. The guys who did the map (Forge in Gloucester) couldn't have been more helpful and tweaked it to reduce the torque low down, but the transmission clearly wasn't happy and I accepted their offer of a map back to standard and a full refund.

Hasn't put me off, but has made me a little wary. This, by the way, was with a clutch and flywheel that had only done 5000 miles at the time (and the car 60,000).
